I am not sure if I told you that a couple of months ago I was asked to participate in a quilt show. It is going to be this weekend at the St. Irmengard Realschule in Garmisch. I said yes but I am a bit nervous!
Participating in a quilt show means that you are opening yourself up to criticism from people that don't know you! What happens if they say that my work isn't good enough? That they don't like it? The piecing might not be precise enough or the colors are all wrong?! I know that I quilt/sew because I love the end result. It is my Zen! But I am still worried...
They asked for a large lap size quilt as well as a wall hanging.
I decided on my "Trash to Treasure" wall hanging:
And on my finished Postage Stamp Quilt:
Here is the back:
I was also asked to be a guest speaker at the local quilt guild in 2 weeks. I am supposed to show 20 quilts. They can vary in size but they prefer larger pieces. I have 18 largish (is that even a word?) quilts and lots of little stuff like wall hangings and pillow covers. So I should be good. I will take pictures of all the quilts and things that I am planning to bring with me so I can show you first :-)
Take care,
Me
OMG!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have not told me about it.
Your quilts are perfect in every way. Your pieces are like art. They are wonderful and most of all they are made with care and lots of love. So anyone who talks negative about them does not know what they are talking about :-).
So, does this mean you are becoming famous????????????
